Weekend Wisdom

Last weekend, my family and I watched The Lorax together, and I have to say that I absolutely loved it. Sure, it's not hard to love one of Dr. Seuss' stories, but every time I come across a new (to me) one, it strikes me just how imaginative it is and how beautifully an otherwise serious issue is illustrated, so that little kids - and everyone else for that matter - can understand it. I haven't read much about the author himself, but it always seems to me that his teachings come from such a kind place, free from any criticisms, that it's no surprise why they've had such an impact on so many of us.

The Lorax, which deals with environmental issues among others, now clearly has a special place in my heart. And I think that these words, spoken by The Once-ler, perfectly illustrate how even a small gesture of kindness and loving care towards our planet counts a whole awful lot.
