Guilty Pleasure: Office Talk

When it comes to watching TV, sitcoms are my weakness. I've watched so many of them - Friends, New GirlThat 70s Show, even Home Improvement from back in the early 90s, and the list goes on - countless times over already. In fact, I hardly ever have the patience to watch anything else anymore.

I know that it takes away from my time focusing on living a healthier lifestyle - being active, cooking healthier meals, etc. - which makes it quite the guilty pleasure but, at the same time, I understand that each of us needs a little time away from working on our big goals once in a while, so that afterwards we can come back feeling refreshed and with new ideas. This is my way of doing that. It helps me relax after a long day, laugh and forget about any problems or stress for a little while. So, for that reason, I've decided not to feel guilty about it anymore and instead fully enjoy the 30 minutes of fun that these shows deliver.

My latest favourite is The Office. Unlike my other favourites, it took me a really long time to get on board with this one. I could never watch more than a few minutes before I would have to switch the channel which, as it turns out, wasn't long enough to understand what the show is all about and why it is filmed this way - something that contributed to my dislike of it. Ever since last fall though, I can't get enough of it. I think both the older episodes that include Michael Scott/Steve Carell and the ones from the new season are hilarious, and I'm a little sad that it will be over soon.

I'd love to know, do you watch sitcoms? If yes, which ones are your favourites?

Guilty Pleasures: Sweetly Dark

I can't deny that I love sweets. In fact, I'm not picky and I like pretty much all different kinds - be they candy, cakes, ice cream or anything else - but I have a special weakness for chocolate, and whenever I have it at home, I can't stay away for too long. That being said, I know that all the sugar it contains - and some of the other ingredients too - is not very healthy, so I usually indulge in small quantities.

This spring I found the Kit Kat Dark Chocolate Wafers - what I'd like to think are a healthier version of one of my favourite treats - and I couldn't stay away. To be honest, I'm not the biggest fan of dark chocolate; I'm of the belief that chocolate is meant to be sweet, which is not the case with a 70% cocoa content, but in the form of a wafer, it is much better. With Easter having just passed, I've been enjoying a lot of this and I love that the dark chocolate adds a slightly healthier touch to an otherwise even guiltier pleasure.

What are your favourite sweet treats that you're guilty of indulging in most often?

Guilty Pleasures: Happy Shower

I have started this blog as a way to document my passion for living green as well as my journey to getting there, and so far I have chosen to focus only on my successes. I believe that with any challenge, as long as I keep going and strive to get better all the time, then I'm okay. However, I've realized over time that it wouldn't be fair - or realistic - to pretend that this journey has been a string of successes. There are plenty of obstacles and temptations along the way, and I've decided to share once in a while the things that get me to make some exceptions - my guilty pleasures.

First up is the Nivea Happy Time Shower Cream. It's been a while since I have switched the majority of my skincare to all-natural products, but truthfully, I have yet to try a natural body wash for the shower. There are just so many tempting scents out there, and this is one of my most recent favourites; I think it has such a summery scent, and it's clearly impossible for me to deny myself anything summery!

Let me know, what are your guilty pleasures?
